Picollo SD64
« on: May 13, 2006, 05:59:38 PM »
Hi Dude's

I have got some probs getting my picollo sd64 to work.

After puting it in my A1200T and checking the early bootmenu to see if the card is recognized i booted up OS3.9
After installing the MUIMASTER & GTLAYOUT libs i decided to install the cybergraphX 3 software cause it is on the OS3.9 CD.

Wwhen i reboot and wanna run the CGX programm i can't see the card in the menu. I also tried picasso97 software but that doesn't solve it eighter.

I know the drivers are good because they work on my PPC amiga with the phase5 cybervision 64/3D.

Maybe it ain't fully compatible with the picollo?

Ideas anyone?

Which busboard are you using the Picollo in? Some of the MicroniK busboards have problems with various zorro cards. Maybe try to force the graphics card into Zorro 2 mode?

Maybe it will be better to try the graphics card in the A4000, to verify that it actually works.

The card is working under workbench 3.0 / 3.1

So something must be wrong with the drivers

would upgrading to cybergraphX 4 any good ?

http://www.iki.fi/sintonen/sw/exec44beta4.lha

Just use the cgx44fixer from it (it works for AmigaOS 3.9 and cgx3 aswell).

From the readme:
Code: [Select]

o Some software explicitly check for V40 and think V44 is *older* than
V40. Luckily such broken software is very rare. These programs include
CyberGraphX software (only upto cgxv42_r2_pre8). Here is how you can fix
   it:

     > cd libs:
     > copy clone cgxsystem.library cgxsystem.library.backup
     > cgx44fixer cgxsystem.library
cgx44fixer by Harry "Piru" Sintonen <sintonen@iki.fi>
     patch 0: offset: 0x0243E0
     patch 1: offset: 0x025C86
     cgxsystem.library patched succesfully.

(Note: offsets vary with different cgxsystem.library versions!)

If there should be any problems with the patched cgxsystem.library just
restore the backup. Without this patch the displayinfo database is
wrong and you can't see any CGFX modes in screenmode requesters.

UPDATE: The latest pre-release of CGX V4.2 (cgxv42_r2_pre11) finally
fixes this problem, and thus you no longer need this patch. Hooray! :-)

If the card works under 3.0/3.1, this should be it...

@PIRU

Wow, so that means i don't need to upgrade to cybergraphX4, just by installing this patch.

NICE :-D

Thanx for the trick
