Anyone know abt coldfire/Dragon?
« on: May 09, 2006, 05:53:49 PM »
Hi All-
I've been checking in every so often to get the release info on the Dragon w coldfire card.  There was a lot of "almost here" news about a year ago and then ???  I just looked thru the last couple of months of the hardware forum and no discussion about it at all.  Did I miss the death notice? Does someone have some inside info they can share?

I was really looking forward to this hobby computer hop-up kit!

Hi amije-
Say it isn't so.  I get the OS4/new hardware tangle, but the coldfire was (i thought) a fast 68K series replacement that would let classic AMIGA's at least keep the the shirt tails of the speed leaders in distant view.  Fast classic machines would have some useable software that is cheap and not too nasty.
Yours-

@CRL

The reason why you haven't found anything new about it is that nobody (except Elbox) knows what's happenig and so we're still waiting for the release.

i suppose you are right :-)  as Shark will be available in the form of a pci card, and dragon could be transfert to an os4 machine.
