Not Amiga but commodore related this question.
Just got a Vic20 from the carboot for £3.
What Imn curious about is where the I is from the top of the machine. It says Commodore VC20.
Ive looked at others and they clearly say Commodore Vic20.
Can someone shed some light on the subject :-?

I think the Vic20 was sold under half a dozen different names, depending on the country. http://www.commodore.ca might be able to provide a definitive answer.

Well at least here in Germany the VIC 20 was sold as VC 20. One reason might be that Commodore Germany feared that "Vic" sounded too much like "fick" (f*ck)
Also IIRC it was marketed as "Volks Computer", the VIC 20 was meant to be what the "Volkwagen  beetle" was car wise.

From my readings of Commodore history, blade is right on the money on both counts.

"VC = Volks Computer": Reminds me of LG = Life's Good, instead of Lucky Goldstar.  Some names just can't transfer between languages and cultures.
Good good study, day day up!
