replacement of battery a3000

any creative suggestions on how to replace the battery on the 3000 desktop motherboard????i have seen many ways but never the correct way to replace the battery. i would like to use the flat lithium cell, but to my knowledge that is not rechargeable.
should i use a replacement varta cell or some other type batteries???

There is no one correct way, as the battery was not designed to be replaced in the first place.  IMO, it could not have been expected that the computers would be used this long.  If you want to make it like the original, you can still get those batteries at electronics suppliers.  You could remove the old one, by cutting and desoldering, and then solder in the new one.  It should last for another several years.  The lithium coin batteries are indeed non rechargable, but that's fine.  You rarely need to replace them, and they don't leak.  You also need to install a diode to stop reverse current going through the battery (this is what would otherwise charge a rechargeable battery).  Schottky (barrier) diodes are good for this, as they have low forward bias drops (less of the battery's voltage drops across the diode).

There is some manufacturers of Coin stile batteries that are now making rechargable batteries. I have one in my A4000 and it works great. Thy cost about $6 and are 3.6 volts.
Panasonic maks some as well as where I got mine Powerstream.com

i bought these batterys image for 1,5 euro each from a local shop with electronic stuff. i've been told that exactly this battery is the most common in use for electronic devices, so i think that you can find easy enough at least one at the proper shop :-)
