...and I would love to see users understand that the one biggest reason Mediator is not supported anywhere is Elbox themselves.

- Ever wondered why there is no linux support? (as in source code)
- Ever wondered why Elbox doesn't provide source code for the one linux kernel said to have mediator support? I know some have requested the source code, and haven't received it (so far).
- Ever wondered why Elbox blocked early OpenPCI support (yes, it was there from early on) for Mediator?

There are other reasons why Mediator is not supported (some technical issues with the A1200 mediators), but why bother when the company involved clearly wants to block any other attempts to add any support?

But the latest openpci.library have Mediator support.
Is MorphOS PCI library made from OpenPCI.library ? if so could it be included in the MOS version too ?

I know it's not working to 100% just yet but maybe enougn to get a display going ?

Hi,
as Piru told you, Elbox refused to allow Titan/B.Vernoux to build any drivers to sell their MMCD+chips... because Titan/B.Vernoux find the way to do that without the upgrade, but due to copyirght raisons he can"t publish it anymore.

OpenPci is well installed in MorphOS for PUP and for PEG.

And Titan/B.Vernoux has no more classic Amiga, when i speaked to him last month on #morphos.

It is normal that the G-REX is supported because it's a BPlan/DCE product like the Pegasos, B/CPPC, B/CVision,...
It's a full 32 bits bus (not like M1200 that is 24 bits), the exchange are clocked by the 040/060 quartz, and give more MB/s for the transfert between PCI card and CPU (who care about the high transfert rate between PCI cards ??).

Prometheus may have a better support than Mediator..

Maybe you didn't have seen that :
http://bvernoux.free.fr/DevPCI.php
February 9, 2003:
- OpenPci.library v1.0 (with powerpci.library 1.76 for Amithlon included)

Information: The mediator support of a well-known company is definitively canceled because of their poor developer policy and their questionable attitude towards customers.
Keep the Faith !
VG 5000/A1000/500/500+/600/2000/CDTV/1200PPC-GREX/1200PPC -ATEO-BV/4060D/CD32/Aone/Peg 1/Peg2 G4/ various funny machines too  :-) http://www.mo5.com/collection/index.php?pseudo=CLS2086
I also repair drives of our old beloved Amiga

There IS support for the mediator in OpenPCI.library. AND it is released.
From the readme:

News in V2.0
Warning this library support Mediator and i haven't tested it on
Mediator, Prometheus, Grex, Amithlon but it could work.
Please test and send me feedback for Mediator, Prometheus, Grex, Amithlon, Pegasos1 & Pegasos2.

Atleast pciscan that comes with the archive works ok with my mediator and lists all the cards etc.
And i have tried ArackAttack and a noname USB card. Poseidon sees the card but i can't get it to work. But as i haven't got another card to try with i can't verify if it's the card or the mediator driver that is the problem.

The OpenPCi lib "does" ;-) not work well with Mediator. I have already also made tests with diverse USB cards(a NEC USB 2.0 among them) and none has worked with the OpenPci and ArakAtack.

A greeting.

This is by no means any atempt to discredit you.
Maybe it's a language thig ?

But you mean it "does not" work well with the Mediator and not "should" ?
Cause i hate to think it was meant be working like {bleep}e on the Mediator as a "feature".
