Cyberstorm MK1 060
« on: May 03, 2006, 10:45:16 PM »
hey all just got one of the above, it came with 24mb ram but I'm trying to get 2 x 32mb simms to work with no luck, I've looked over at amiga hardware for the jumper settings but it's unclear as to which way up the memory daughterboard would be whilst making the settings, all I know is one way I get no memory from the cyberstorm, the other way I get a yellow screen on boot.

any help appreciated :)

Hi Rob, the dowloadable PDF manual at amiga.resource.cx has both English and German translations - the second half of the pdf is in English.
If I'm reading it reight it suggests the 'right way up' is looking at the jumper block with the ram-board connector at the bottom.

If it is working with the 24mb configuration can you not determine which way is up from the existing jumper settings?
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

Windows-free since 2011-2014 (Damn you Netflix!)

From the manual:

The following table shows the jumper positions, looking down onto the jumpers while the connector is pointing downwards.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Make sure to try a few different brands of memory. I have only been able to get some 32mb SIMMs to work with this board.
The jumper settings are also at the big book off amiga hardware site.

If I'm not mistaking the MK1 requiers FastPageMode Simms and doesn't work with EDO's. I remember I bought FPM simms specificly for my old CS060MK1.

Hey Brian, that would explain it, since I've been trying to use EDO simms.

Can anyone else confirm that a Cyberstorm Mark 1 needs FPM and  NOT EDO simms?

NO WAY,

I have my cyberstorm MK-1 and it runs fine with my kind EDO ram. Neverless it might indeed be usefull to check some different simms.
