Amiga 500 floppy in 3000
« on: May 03, 2006, 03:55:53 PM »
Hey I replaced my 3000 floppy drive with one from a 500.  It works perfectly and now I got my 3000 fully working.  But I cant put the case back on because of the button on the 500's floppy drive!  What's the best way to correct this?

Thanks,

Neofree

If it's a Chinon drive, you can just switch the original floppy button.  If not, you can either file down or make your own button to fit through the opening in the A3000 front panel.  The Chinon drive buttons for an A2000 will actually fit through the A3000 front hole unmodified.  If you have a Panasonic, Mitsumi, Teac or Sony floppy then I don't know if you have to file down/modify the button.

It's a Chinon drive..

I figured out a way to attach the 3000 button to the A500 drive without modifying the case or anything. Looks like 3000 drive from the outside..   So I'm all set!

Already took pictures and will be listing this guy on eBay in the next few hours! Will post a link..

Thanks,
