I'm glad it's Team17 that did the conversion. I wouldn't trust other developers to not screw it up completely. :-)

Dunno...T17 has lost a lot of my respect. They just keep out churning endless versions of Worms. No originality left it seems.

They have tried to release other games and actually pretty much finished a new alien breed fps, but their publisher wanted worms 3d instead...  :-(
From what they say on the team17 forums, it looks like the developers dont like this situaton much either.

@odin

If they keep churning out something that someone is still paying for, then respect them for their business savvy.

@ weirdami & odin

It sounds like the Worms franchise has been TOO successful :crazy:

But think what would have happened to Lemmings in the hands of some other developer. We'd probably be seeing all sorts of "hip" stereotypical lemming character archetypes to appeal to the young male demographic: lemmings with boom boxes and hooded sweatshirts and rollerblades and overly-sexed women and all sorts of stupid catchphrases.

Blech. Trends like that are why I don't play games any more. Well, new ones anyway.

Hmm sounds like the same story as Westwood. Any change that the publishers might be EA?
