Replacement joystick cables?

I have several joysticks that are otherwise fine, except for the cables being damaged. Does anyone know where I could source replacement cables with a molded connector already in place?

I have built a couple of replacements in the past, but it would be nice to get that original look. :-D

You might find them at a surplus store, but I wouldn't count on it.
Finding broken joysticks and gamepads with intact cables would be your best bet.
If your joysticks use standard DB9 connectors, you can scavenge cables from old Master System and Megadrive pads, as well as other Amiga and Atari sticks.

I don't know for sure, but it sounds extremely unlikely to me.  You want to buy Amiga joystick cables with the original gromet in place, right?

I suggest you make your own. Its easy, just use UTP Cat5 cable that has more than enough wires and DB9 connectors. That way the cable will be:
1) cheap
2) reliable if youre skilled
3) exactly long as you want it to be

Yeah, they all use DB9. I'd rather use brand new cables, to avoid an instant replay of the cable problem. Also, I tend to like a little extra length in the cables. Soldering my own is probably the way to go.

You could try fitting a DB9 connector to your joystick, instead of using a cable grommet.  A bit more expensive in connectors, but would avoid the grommet issue.
