I have just read the following on a website...

"The AT A1200 has an altered PC floppy drive and is, as a result, not compatible with certain software titles."

Can anyone expand on this?
Will it only be able to read DOS disks, making non-DOS disks (mainly the earlier A500/600 games) unreadable?

Thanks!

The drive is pretty normal, its the Motherboard that was adapted to take these drives (so you cant just bungin a normal amiga drive).

Most dos based disks will be fine.  Its copy protected games that make use of the drive sync signal which will suffer (and thats alot of classic games).

There are various work arounds on Aminet which require soldering of varied degrees.

Cheers, that was a quick reply!

Any other subtle differences between an AT A1200 and a Commodore A1200, other than the floppy drive issue above and a 3.1 ROM?

I had that same motherboard and PC floppy and I had to get a motherboard fix done so I could use normal Amiga floppy drives (I think).
