Radeon doesn't see red
« on: April 13, 2006, 12:47:04 AM »
A rather odd phenonemon has occurred, my PC with a radeon 9550 is incapable of displaying red, using other colours instead, such as white blue, black and green.

Is this a common problem, I havn't changed the colour settings and I'm hoping the graphics card hasn't developed a fault. Is there any way of testing it?

Are you sure it isn't your monitor? perhaps the red gun is on it's way out.  Or maybe it is the cable (a loose connection).  I think the graphics card is the least likely suspect.

Specifically check for bent pin in the connectors. I've seen the whole computer being sent for repair for this, more than one occasion.

Thanks. It seems the monitor cable is the problem, the pin at the bottom right is broken.
