23 pin video out on an A4000
« on: April 08, 2006, 05:25:14 PM »
Hi everyone,

Is the 23pin video out on an A4000 just a standard cable? I want to put a short extention on that section of cable to the Toastscan so it can be more accessable for adjustments plus its a heavy adapter and dosn't want to stay pluged in so an extention would fix this.

I have seen some people hack a 25 pin straight through cable (M->F) by chopping off one end to make it into 23 pin.  Ugly, but cheap and it works.  You can even use the screw at one side to secure it to the port.  I think the problem you might find would be interference and degraded signal if you go too long.

Good luck!

Hi,
AmigaCenter (FR) seems to still have some 23pin video connectors.
I hope this can help you.
