PowerVixxen Or AROS Box, PowerVixxen Or AROS Box, PowerVixxen Or AROS Box, UHgggg!

I'd be asking more technical questions about this product first.

It is just that the carrot is being dangled just in visual range. Do you run towards it hoping you can get there or that it is not a mirage or wait an see if it is brough closer?
The Power Vixxen looks to still be alive, though not without problems. Will he be able to get the parts and find a company to produce it? Tune in and find out.

Also, I didn't want to repost what had been posted a few times before. When? Pictures? benchmark? Spec? etc.  I hope by now that it would be a forgone conclusion to what the standard questions are.  I'm in no hurry, I can hold out a couple of months. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't then AROS Box.

I was seriously thinking about buying a 1200 for the Dragon or Power Vixxen - but an A3000 version would definitely be even more appreciated!

Email sent.  I'm more interested in the standalone version, because I don't have an A1200, A3000 or A4000.

Will have to see what comes first and decide if I want to get a second-hand machine.

Fair enough, I misread the original post.  I thought he only wanted emailing regarding the edge connectors.
I have now sent an email adding my voice to the chorus.
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

I'm really glad to hear the PowerVixen is still in the pipeline! At $299 there's no reason why every classic Amiga owner who's still interested in this platform shouldn't buy one in a snap.

Just log on e-bay and take a look at the bid amounts for the old Amiga accelerators!  Now ACK is offering a BRAND NEW, 400MHz PowerPC accelerator complete with the latest incarnation of OS4 for a paltry $299!

I'd pay more then that to lay my hands on OS4, revitilising my beloved A1200 in the process is an added bonus!! Count me in for both the A1200 and the stand alone version when they become available!

And good luck with your project!

Jethro Tull

P.S.  For a future stand alone version, how about a joint venture with the guy who built a classic Amiga on an FPGA? Just immagine a new Amiga incarnation able to run all the classic programs natively besides the new OS4!

Does this need to be sticked on the main page so people will be sure and see it?

I would definately buy 1 for one of my A1200s at that price.

I would consider a 2nd one for my other A1200 which overheats sometimes: http://zhulien.kicks-ass.net/pics/amiga/a1200b.jpg (for photo) http://zhulien.kicks-ass.net/pics/amiga/ (more photos)

I would definately buy one for my A4000 if one were available at a similar pricerange (cause it's Cyberstorm is in repair for last 2 years!)

*bump*

One for me too, please! (A1200)

But some more infos would be _very_ helpful. People should know what they get (specs!) before they can vote wether they want one are not.

Wow, that board really has the best prequesites
to bring Amiga back to real life ! Cheap, powerful
and compatible with AmigaOS 4.0. But someone must
convince Amiga Inc. to license OS4.0 as OEM to
be bundled with the board. It would be forgiven
chances if Amiga Inc. would not agree !!

i don't see anybody talking about MORPH-OS PowerUp, but if ACK fail to get an AOS4 licence, what will happen ?
Will it run already M.OS because it's quite similar to the BPPC.. ?

IIRC, since the PowerVixxen LT is an accelerator card rather than a stand-alone computer it will be covered by the host computer's licence eg. the one that Commodore or Amiga Technologies sold you years ago.  In short:  it already has a licence to the classic versions of AmigaOS 4.
