Film to digital...

Topic kinda says it all. Having shot film/slides through my Yashica FX-7 (a fully manual SLR for those that don't know) for the past few years, I have finally made the decision to go digital. Thats not to say I havn't used digital before, I have owned several digital point-and-clicks (Sony Mavica, Panasonic Lumix, to name a few) over the years, but I hardly consider these to be in the league of a decent DSLR. Anyway, I finally shelled out and bought myself a Nikon D70s, along with a few bits'n'pieces, all in all, about three and a half G's worth, and after all that, I was kinda hoping to leech some advice from an existing Nikon DSLR user from this site, any takers?

You won't have a choice soon, unless your prepared to shell out for a Hasselblad, or something along those lines. Large and medium format is still going strong, but 35mm film is almost dead. Nikon has just announced it will be discontinuing all its entry-mid level 35mm cameras, only the overtly expensive F6 will still be availiable. And I have no intention on moving to large or medium format. Besides, this is just a stepping stone, the Nikon D200 offers double the res and I'll be keeping an eye out for the D3 soon, assuming Nikon don't change their mount.

Finally, after two months, I have a D70s in my hands, albeit, minus the 18-200. I had to shell out an additional AU$500 as the only D70's left in Melbourne were with 18-70mm lens kits, oh well.
