Need help from a 3000T owner
« on: March 27, 2006, 01:23:46 PM »
I have this waaaaay beautiful and wonderful A3000T which I want to use as my main machine but I've run in a bit of a snag. The machine has no 5.25" drive rails, none nope nada.
I figure there is nowhere I can buy these rails from, as they look very custom. (buying replacement rails for my A4000T was a breeze)

What I need is pictures of the rails, from all angles next to a ruler if possible. This way I might be able to reconstruct them.... This for both the upper aswell as both lower bays...

Anyone willing to help?

I don't have a digital camera but I grabbed myself some plastic HD rails from some old servers that were being decommisioned where I work. I have no idea what is supposed to be used in the 5.25" slots but they seem to do the job. What I would like though is some of the those 3.5" rails for my 3000T :)

Well I guess those were the parts Tahoes wanted pictures from. I was lucky and found a couple of those 5.25" rails in a bag of assembly stuff for our streamers at work.
The slits where the fixig brackest  grab in had to be widened a little bit though. So those rails were some kind of industry standard, but I guess you have to look at way old Servers or Mainframes to find some of those.

Here is a picture of those 3.5" floppyrails:

I leave the honor to Crusher to take Pictures from the 5.25" rails as he allready did so much work :-D
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

Yes, please! Thanx very much! Lemmink was kind enough to post a floppy rail so that is no longer needed...

Good news, I found the rails.  :-)
Approx 200-300KB big pics.
Here goes:

Rail1
Rail1b
Rail2 on cdrom

Notice that Rail1 and Rail1b is the same rail and Rail2 is mirrored. Hope this helps and ofcourse if you want me to take anymore pictures, just tell me.  :-)
