Fastest Graphics Card

whats the fastest pci graphics card that can be used in a G-rex.

Also if someone can direct me to some test figures that would be great

Probably a Voodoo 5/5500 - if you can find one. I remember seeing a 5500 on eBay about a year ago...

but you might know that the V5-5500(dual chip) will be used as a V4(mono chip)...
And only V3 will run in 3D mode under OS 3.x.

Nope. My 4500 runs equally well as my 3000 on my Prometheus using Warp3D. But on 2D 3000 is much faster on some operations, 4500 driver seems to be lacking on hw acceleration, they never developed it to a finished state.

I don't know about G-Rex driver, but Mediator driver at least doesn't take advantage of the 2nd GPU, as has been mentioned.

The 3D drivers were written for Voodoo 3 - it just happens that the Voodoo 4 and 5 are similar enough to work, but they're not 'officially supported' by Warp 3D, and in the test I did (in a Mediator 4000 - maybe G-Rex will be different), a Voodoo 5 5500 was slower than a Voodoo 3, so I switched back.

I think the best card to use is a Voodoo 3 3000 SGRAM.  And it can be overclocked 10% without additional cooling, more with cooling (done via tooltypes in P96, I don't know about in CGX).

For AmigaOS 3.x I would go for a Voodoo3 3000
For MorphOS I would go for a Voodoo5 5500
