Amiga dealers in Australia?
« on: March 18, 2006, 06:03:03 AM »
Anybody know if there are any?  Preferably in Melbourne, Victoria.  I need a new floppy drive and a few other things for my A4000/040

I dont beleive there are any shops still trading Amiga products in Melbourne. Have you tried any of the still active Amiga user groups?

http://www.aug.org.au/
they might be able to help...

maybe http://mc1.boing.net/

or a long shot is

MVB Computer Supplies Pty Ltd
506 Dorset Road,
CROYDON  3136
ph 03 9725 6255

they used to supply Amiga bits upto last year or so

Az
Completely useless? I can always be used as a bad example

I've used Amiga Innovations before.  It's a one man operation.  He was operating from his house, which was not far from mine, in Perth.  He is (was?) a friend of a close friend of mine.

He was very straight forward to deal with: honest, open, and no troubles.  However, I have to say he really didn't show a lot of interest in customer service.

His range of products is ever decreasing, and his old (even second hand) product prices haven't ever dropped, to my knowledge.  Mostly I think he is overpriced (no I'm not complaining, just a considered opinion).

I also asked him for a quote on some PC trouble shooting, as a technician, but he wanted to charge $120 per hour, in about 1996.  Well, that certainly gave me motivation to go and learn some more computing skills of my own.

I wouldn't be too concerned about using only local dealers.  Better to just get a good, and legitimate deal.
Good good study, day day up!

Of course, we ship all over the world :-)
