What is your business here on amiga.org
« on: March 05, 2006, 11:53:10 PM »
My business? Been reading here for years. Love it when somebody brings up a talk about an old game from the late 80's, like 'Batman', 'Ports of Call' and such. Or which joystick is the best - The Arcade, no doubt. Still loves my Amiga 500. I do not care so much about the AmigaONE or anything above Kickstart 2.0!

seams like you have lost too much, amiga has much more to offer than only these you say, but of course, this is your decision :-)
A3040/25 AmigaOS 3.9
A1260BPPC AmigaOS 3.9/4.0
Sam440ep AmigaOS 4.1.2
PegasosII/G3 AmigaOS 4.1.2/MorphOS 2.7/Debian 5.0.7/SUSE 11.1
MacMini/G4 1.5 MorphOS 2.7/OSX 10.5.8
Long Live Amiga

If i am going to have bugs on my system,
at least let me keep the latest versions.

...I have seen the different models, but I do not have any interest in them. An A1200 is nice though. 8-)

Well, IMHO, 1.3 is nice and quirky because of its orange and blue-ness!

But for anything other than games use, I'd not bother with any of the 2.x series when 3.1 offers much more and works with the majority of older Amiga hardware.

And for an expanded Amiga with graphics card, it's pointless using anything less than 3.1...

But each to their own, depends on what you use your Amiga for at the end of the day - the important thing is that it is used and you enjoy it!

Looking at 1.3 isn't half bad.  The colors are actually quite good.  But... USING it...  UUUGHHH!!!  I cry whenever I have to use Kick1.3 and want to view files without icons.

As for 2.0, I could never use it on my A1000 when it came out.  3.0 is a work of art, if only the PAL/NTSC soft switch on the early startup menu actually worked with non-DOS disks.  I hate using Degrader's SurviveReboot feature to set the system to PAL, and not being able to use the OCS override.

Probably just morbid curiosity.

...that and reading the threads about classic harware hacking and emulation.

I'm an amiga user of 16 years standing (still own my original A500), who can't bear to leave the platform behind.

I also enjoy the friendly forun chitchat too.

I like to read and absorb info. I have 2 vanilla amigas that i like to game on and tinker with...

Wish I had more cash and technical knowledge - Until recently the proxy server hare at work blocked access to this site so I spend more time on Amigaworld.net.

Both great sites.

I like to read about all the new developments and enjoy the interesting discussions.

I don't have an Amiga any more, I'm quite happy with my Pegasos (for anything Amiga-ish), my Mac (for productivity apps) and my Vaio Laptop (for games, bittorrent, and anything else).

I was an Amiga user from '90 - '93 and then again 2000 - 2004 (came back after reading about the 'New Amigas running the revolutionary new Amiga OS called AmigaDE' that would coming out real soon)
