The unanswerable question of value
« on: March 05, 2006, 04:21:48 PM »
Hi all

I'm interested in knowing opinions on what you might think of the value of the following:

Amiga 1200 with 3.1 ROMS in a
Eyetech EZ-Tower Z4
Voodoo 3 ( I think, definately a Voodoo though :-) )
Predator SE PCI Board
Scandoubler/Flicker Fixed used alongside SMON and BMON
IDE adapter
Fast Serial Port
20GB HD ( could be 10 though) and
Internal Floppy Drive.

As far as I'm aware it needs a BPPC to complete the system.  Would anyone be able to correct me on that.  For example could I actually use an 060 board instead?

But basically what kind of value do you think this system is worth knowing of course that it is missing the PPC board.

Thanks very much

You won't like the answer but the truth of it is the system is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

You couldn't use an 060 board as the Predator SE is a stickered DCE G-Rex board, which connects to the PCI local bus expansion slot that you only find on the Blizzard PPC.

I recommend splitting everything up and selling it in parts on eBay.  Except for the Voodoo3 (which you should bundle with the G-Rex) and the HD (which you could sell with the Tower case and A1200 Mobo) as these are standard PC bits and so worth very little on their own.

Okay sounds like the best course of action to me.  Thanks for that I shall start thinking about doing so.
