A2630 question.
« on: February 28, 2006, 01:53:13 PM »
Hello, I use Amiga2000 REV6.2 Kisckstart 1.3 with A2630 + 4MB.

When I reboot the system, if I insert a floppy fisk, Amiga start load, but after some seconds She (Amiga :P) stop it.

After first 3 lines:

Copyright...
...
Relase 1.3

And I get stop.
If i reset, clikc right mouse button, and I choice 68000 or 68030 from boot menu of A2630, then all its ok.
Obviously, all its ok if i insert a program/game compatible with 68030.

Others times, happen that I get "Guru Meditation #0...0B. 00001970"

I must to rechoice 68000 or 68030 every time that I reset the system...

This not happen with Workbench, all work good with it.

I ask: is that normal that I get Gurun Meditation or Load Stop when I use A2630 card?

Thank to all!

PS.
This is THE first time that I see form live an Amiga2000 at work....never seen before, but now, I will see She at work everyday!!!

Thanks, but...

...I saw Commodore manual before to install A2630.

I choice for 4mb (my its fully popol.)

I choice NOT German model (A2000-A, my is A2000-B)

I choice memory on.

I choice syncronus clock for 68030 and 68882.

I choice NOT for Amix.

And it work, but when I reboot the system, Amiga start load floppy, and after "Realase 1.3" write, it stop.

I must reboot, rechoice 68000 or 68030 and it work ok.

I ask if this is normal way for to operate of this card, I never got one before of this, so I ask for guys that sue it.

Thanks  :-)

1. Could it be a bad battery? (no correct time)

2. Could it be a bootblock virus on some disks not working with the 68030?

I have open and checked all connections on A2630 and A2000 motherboard and all jumpers.

All is ok, I have not changed nothing, but now work....

yeah, I'm happy because work, but I don't understund why now work :( and before not.

Maybe as Markus_Bieler suggest, a bootblock virus, because with Workbench Disk work all perfect, I got problems using Workbench together games & programs.

Thanks for suggest, I was worried about failure of any capacitors or...I don't know

Hi,
May be you had oxydations on the 68000, and when you have pushed it, it has made a better contact.
On the 2630, you have a jumper that show you at the boot the choice to use the 68000 or the 68030, nor you'll use the 68030.
Which rom do you have ? 7.0 ?
Keep the Faith !

Revison ROM...I don't know.

I bought A2630 on eBay as 7.0 version, but now that it is in my hand, I can't understund which version is.

I see ROM chip, there aren't any label with info, just a black ribbon on two ROMs.

So I can only suppose (hope) in 7.0 version.
