What happened with the the Ami series of emulators?
« on: February 14, 2006, 06:26:44 PM »
Been playing around some with emulators as of lately, and came to think of the Ami series of emulators developed by Juan Antonio Gomez Galvez, aka 007. What happened? Why did he suddenly stop all developement? His website can be found here: http://www.arrakis.es/~joanant/

AmiMSX, AmiMasterGEAR and ShapeShifter are the only emulators I use on my Amiga, because I think they are more or less perfect. Though, there are some minor glitches in AmiMSX (flickering sprites, haven't noticed this myself but a friend reported it the other day) and Ys does not work in AmiMasterGEAR. Besides that deliver pretty much everything I want emulators to deliver.

Do anyone know anything about Juan's sudden halt of developement? Has anyone been in contact with him? I think I will send him an e-mail telling him how lovely I consider his emulators to be. If he ever were to toy around with developing them further, fixing the very last few glitches to be found... that would be awesome!

I did notice though that someone other than him did the last update on the AmiMasterGEAR emulator. I think I'll try to get in contact with him aswell.
