AmigaOne = Bus....more like pic below as an Omnibus in Stealth.

I have a Copy of Interface Age by my side here with a lovely pictures of a computers and boards that drove the Wild West of the personal computer industry. Companies that risked all to get a finger in the pie of the modern age. $400s for this $400 dollars for that that like the minimig today, people doing it out of love and the hope of breaking even. Most blown to the winds and lost for eternity.

Yet some we know today, Apple, Intel and M$ and even Commodore...They all took risks with their products. Where they right to risk or should they have released a limited number, got them manufactured overseas, live off the hype fail to deliver the dream.

I know the garage based computer companies are a thing of the past, its all business, profit and promotion. But there is hope.....I have no doubt there will be an other Apple another Commodore maybe, it just needs a reason for it to happen, maybe someone one day might take that risk and clean up all the way.

was Enterprise Vault (Its an Exchange Fail!), now its EMC Avamar, Dedupe for mostly everything including brain cells.

You are waiting because you did not want to get on the bus.

You're talking about a prototype bus, not a production bus. Sorry, but... between waiting forever for a production bus that doesn't look like it's gonna come anytime soon, and being stuck in a prototype bus that is already short of gas, I much prefer walking ;)

LOL! I like you all getch the bus stop philosophy. It's true! Stop waiting. Get on whatever comes by or buy a car. A bike even! Perhaps walking is better.

So much in life applies here......wait...I'm getting carried away!

Some of us waited and waited for the shiny new bus before realizing that what we really enjoyed was riding on an old Routemaster.

So now we don't care about the new buses, we're all going on a summer Holiday on an old bus and enjoying ourselves*

Reflect:
"You almost make it sound as if there were no OS4 at all,
but the lucky ones with hardware, and I mean every one of
them, all have a quite complete operating system."

Except the high percentage with burned CPUs and only a {bleep}ty
basement-company not honoring warrantees to turn to..

The bus already came by three times.  If you didn't want to catch the AmigaOneSE, you could have got the AmigaOneXE.

no, it was not the bus we're waiting for. I was somekind of horse cart which had the sign/plate of the bus we're waiting for, but it was not it.

@The_Editor

Genuine {bleep}up.

I have written couple of times (since 2002 or so) to BED (Blacks Editor, the best editor for amiga) maintainer asking for an update... last time when I wrote to him he was still waiting for {guess what}.

Even bug fixed OS4 only version would suffice.

HAHAHAHA!

I don't have to wait! "AOS 4.0" is already here! It's called MorphOS 1.4!! And I have it!

But I'm more interested in Linux (or Solaris) on crappy old x86 (dual core P4. har har!)!

Hum,
It's still hard to understand A. Redhouse position but there will be a new big problem for the bus, especially in Europe and in 2 or 4 years in the US (harder than the digital millenium copy act):
Soon, all materials that doesn"t include a DRM system, and that allow to copy "protected" disc or to read it with a non-licensed software we'll be illegal.
All the Amiga, all AmigaOne, all Pegasos and their software would be in this category...  :rtfm:
Keep the Faith !
VG 5000/A1000/500/500+/600/2000/CDTV/1200PPC-GREX/1200PPC -ATEO-BV/4060D/CD32/Aone/Peg 1/Peg2 G4/ various funny machines too  :-) http://www.mo5.com/collection/index.php?pseudo=CLS2086
I also repair drives of our old beloved Amiga

Groan... Rememds when i went to watch fantastic 4 on deve latnight. There was a 30 second clip education users how criminal it is to copy the dvd. Couldnt fast forward it ( not allowed ). Then the fbi warning.

Now they are saying that with new formats, you will need an approved monitor to get quality playback. The software will actually play a crappy signal if it doesnt like your monitor. Its going back in time, here we are with all the fancy powerful hardware, and programmers are writing code to intentionally not make use of it.

Doesnt matter anyway, people will hack it. Os4 will come out on standard hardware with a littl pripriety wedge that will get dealt with. AOS4 will probably eventually be hacked to run on a mac.
