indivision scan doubler flicker fixer issue
« on: February 11, 2006, 01:53:13 PM »
I have 2 amigas, a 2000 and a 1200.  I recently purchased an Indivision scan doubler/flicker fixer.  I can use the doubler on my 2000 with out any problems.  When I connect it to my 1200, it refuses to work.  I also have a 1080 monitor which works fine with both machines, which tells me that the RGB port in the 1200 is fine.  Why would it work on my 2000 and not my 1200?  I really want the doubler to work for my 1200. Is there a voltage difference on the RGB ports of the two machines, or do I have to use diffrent preferences in screenmode?  This is frustrating.  Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

I have an older version from Elbox but I guess they are the same. Have you tried if it works in early-startup? (when you start your Amiga press both mousebuttons until you get in.)
If it works there then it should work in WB (with std screenmode)
If not, check if the SC/FF really is connected physically.

Hope it helps. :-)

I tried the early startup as you suggested and still don't get an image.  I have double-checked the connections between the vga monitor the 1200 and the doubler.  Connection is rock solid.  No dice.

it seems that your A1200 RGB port, lacks one of the power lines (+5v or +12v . . don't remember now).

Why not contact Jens directly?

pin 22> +12 volts

pin 23> +5 volts

I found this website that details the RGB ports for various versions of the amigas, and from what I can see in the chart, there are a few differences in the signaling of the pins, one is with pin 14 and 21 on the rgb port. Link provided.

This website says one of the A1200 revisions doesnt supply +12 on the RGB port...
