NEW HDD ADVICE. HELP!
« on: April 14, 2003, 10:16:20 AM »
I`m going to buy a harddisk tomorrow.
It`ll be a 120GB IDE device.
Problem is I never connected such huge device to internal IDE port (I had a Power Flyer in my melted A1200PPC. But my 4000T does not have one)
Which models of 120GB hdds do work with A4000T`s internal port? I do have OS3.9bb2 and also PFS3.
And soon I`ll order one of those UDMA to SCSI3 converters from KDH. (once their homepage is again online). And connect the drive to my CyberStormPPCs scsi3. Do all UDMA hdds work with that adapter, or I need specific models?(ATA3, ATA4, etc..) I need urgent help!
A4000T, 604e@400&060@66, 128MB+16MB+Zorram256, CVisionPPC, VLabMotion, Toccata, XSurf100&RapidRoad, Prisma Megamix

A1200, Blizzard060@50, 256MB, Blizzard IV SCSI, FastATA mk4

you have all the necessary hardware and software to run one of these drives. The powerflyer, OS3.9 and pfs3 have the abilty to overcome any 4.3gb limits. So happy install

Problem is I don`t have a Power Flyer in my A4000T. And my A1200 mainboard is hanging on my wall now. Would OS3.9 and pfs3 be enough? Or do I still need a Power Flyer? I`ll be using the internal IDE port of A4000T. (which is buffered but has the same limitations of other Amiga models` IDE port)

Just use direct scsi (DS) version of the PFS3 and you shouldn't have any problems.
