Grex4000 owners: please help.
« on: January 29, 2006, 07:28:14 PM »
Hi, I'm the lucky owner of Grex4000 s/n 29.
But sadly, the #2 PCI slot doesn't work. Today I had a closer look, and discovered that the #2 slot is missing a signal on the 8th pin from the right on the bottom (4th) row. (when looking on the rear side of the board).
This signal is supposed to come from one of the pins on the top of the small interface board (the bit that goes in the CS-PPC, the four rows of pins on the top end of this).

(pictures will be added later).

Could a fellow G-rex owner please, please, please, when they have the time & opportunity, do a simple beep with a multimeter for me?

regards,
Paul

Heey i´m here again.

Paul, i test the #8 pin count from the right to the left of the #4 row (the upper row near the first PCI-slot)and is connected to the first pin of the #2 row count from the botton in the interface PCB (near of symbol copyright DCE blah blah, in the  right square) and even looking on the solder side of the board.

I´m happy if this help you. ;-)

Ciaooo

Very sorry for my lame english :-?

Arrgggh. I read your mail carefully and:

I am afraid that I have been mistaken the pin that it has given you is of the UPPER row near the first PCI slot, the pin of the lower row (near #3 PCI slot) does not make contact with none pin in the interface board, very sorry  :-(

I continue my test to fing if this pin is connect whit another part.

Read you

Weird... does your #2 PCI slot work, or is it dead like mine? Alle the other slots get a signal on this pin, from different pins on the interface board.

Anyways here's a pic of the pin in question: http://www.amiga.org/gallery/index.php?n=1334=13

Thank you very much for your time :pint:

Fixed it!!!!
It goes to the 2nd pin from the right on the top row of pins on the interface board.
A picture is posted.
