I have the full version that I registered back in the day. I would be happy to give you a .dms copy of it if the author doesn't object.

I would need permission first of course. Anyone have any ideas on how to get a hold of him?

Searching Aminet for PCHG gives several results. There are converters as well as the full file format specs. So it shouldn't be a problem to convert these files into something usable even without this Hamlab software.

Thomas

Hi Thomas:

Hamlabplus saves differnts ECS formats, like SHAM, Dynamic ham, etc and of course multipalette (PCHG) 640x512x6 bits, for show it you need a diropus 4.x+ or viewtek (supports multipalette format) and if you like to convert pchg to iff you need a mp2iff24 (from aminet) and saves pchg iff to iff 24 bits standard but i need hamlab plus full (with enabled infinite pixels resolutions) to convert to pchg iff`s my pictures (in .jpg format) :(

thanks and sorry my english :P

Why do you want to convert to PCHG :-?

What's wrong with JPG, GIF and PNG ? IMHO these are perfectly ok to store pictures at high quality.

Thomas

I registered Hamlab back in the day. I sent Ed an email and asked if Dani could register, or if I could give him my old copy. It looks like Ed Hanway has given his program HamLAB Plus to all of us for free! Ed just sent the latest version 2.10 to me. Here is the email I received from him;

Hello

Yes, for many years, and long ago that leaves the Amiga computer, but i send you my last version released. This version is full and is free for all.

Ed

I can upload it to somewhere for people that want it, but where?  We should send Ed a thank you.

Jeff

Done. It's in the gfx/conv directory, or will be once it's approved or whatever.

It appears that maybe that upload never got approved.  This search reveals the demo version that crops off after 512x512 images.

I think the reason Aminet didn't accept the HamLab upload is that the README still says that it is commercial software and not to distibute it. I guess Ed Hanway (the author) forgot to change it when he told Jeff that it was "free for all".

I can send you the archive. Even better would be if somebody could tell me where I can upload it so anybody else interested could download it.

Per the previous post of Ed's email, I have placed this file for downlaod at my anonymous FTP:

ftp://nexus.polaris.net/pub/forager/Amiga

Any objections to the content of this directory may be made directly to me in PM or alan2@rateliff.us.

Sorry to drag up a seven year old thread, but I have fond memories of using this program back in the day and would like to get a copy.  Anyone still have the latest version the author released?

Thanks!!  :)

I can't test the program right now, but I just downloaded the version from LoadWB's ftp server listed in the post above yours.  I am impressed that the program AND the ftp server were still there!
