Super A1200T
« on: January 28, 2006, 05:51:30 PM »
Hi Folks, I have some problems with my best Amiga machine, my A1200T.

When I try "pciscan" always mi PCI card are show with "Detected parity error", later my PCI card sometimes don´t appear in this list. And my computer refuse to boot.

I think that the problem can be a "Bad Hard disk configuration", I use PFS but I not don´t know what is the best setting for my config (MaxTrasnfer for example), Maybe the IDE cables cab be bad.

This is my setup:
AT1200 Motherboard
PowerTower
Mediator PCI ZIV
ZIV Busboard
ZIV Video slot enabler
Blizzard1260 50 Mhz
Blizzard SCSI Kit
64 Mg SIMM (SCSI KIT) + 128 Mg SIMM (BLIZZARD060)
Voodoo3 GFX PCI 16 MG
Sound Blaster 4.1 PCI
Realtek 10 Ethernet PCI
Mrhoocheck
PowerFlyer ZIV
DPS P.A.R.
Buddha&Catweasel ZII
LG x52x24x52 CDRW
Seagate HD 40 Gb
Seagate HD 120 Gb
PC FFD High Density (connected to the catweasel ZKII)
Elbox Amiga/PC keyboard adapter with AT A4000 Keyboard
LG 775FT 17´ Monitor.
ATX400W POWER SUPPLY
AT-ATX ELBOX ADAPTOR
ROM 3.1
AmigaOS3.1 / AmigaOS 3.9 BB2

And before you ask, I have the jumper set correctly ;-)

All IDE devices are connected to the powerflyerZIV, Somebody with similar config can help me? What is the best order for he PCI cards? What is the best number for Maxtrasfer, mask,..? How Can I test if SIMMs are broken?

Thanks ;-)

I'd contact Elbox on any difficulties involving their kit. I assume your hardware is registered so you can get their free (and excellent) support service.

Cheers,

Did the problem start occuring after installing some hard or software?  Was the system stable for a long time prior to this problem starting or is this an A1200T that has been built recently?

How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

A parity error would seem to indicate a hardware problem. Have you tried reseating your PCI cards?

No, sometime ago the system was stable, later it gets a lot of problem and no working. Sometimes PCISCAN show only 2 of 3 PCI Cards, some times it show a lot of numbers(1:,2:,3: .... 254:...), some times my screen appear RED in the amgia video output.

i think DamageX meant to unplugg&replugg all the pci cards in your setup sometimes cards tend to jump in the pci slotts and act as not present or non working that ca result in no boot.

If i were you i would check all macanikal connections and see to it that all things are firmly in its place. After all your tower is a bit populated with cards.
