The base system is an A3000/030/16 megs with a Retina BLTZIII graphic card (Cybergraphics), ethernet card, O/S 3.9 with 3.1 chips and three SCSI drives... 2 gigs and 1 more gig. It's fairly well tweaked to my interests... but alas my interests have moved on to a hypes... PC. I've got a couple of DCTV's a whole wack of external drives, SCSI, CD, Syquest/80 an external genlock and just about every program known to Amiga. Anything good is on this system... But time has passed.

I also have a collection of '2000+' floppies 'indexed' don't ask which may or may not hold viable data. At least 2 feet (maybe 3) of Amiga magazines... The orignal Byte review of the A3000 and some other historical items. Numerous cables and extras...

I'm now paying for storage of this stuff... so the question arises, what to do? What is the most likely scenero..., would it be worth the effort to liquidate... or? Help/...

Hi,

Where are you located?  If you're in a major city, you probably wouldn't have too much trouble getting some dollars for settup.  I doubt anyone would want to ship all of it though.  There are still many people who would like to own and use that kind of equipment.  This is a good place to start.  I expect you will get some offers soon.  I'm presuming you no longer want to hold onto the gear, right?

Asuming you are in Canada. I would see if you can break it up into parts and either give them away to people like me :-D Seriously you should be able to get some cash for it. Where abouts are you in Canada?

I'm here in Toronto, but I'm a little torn.., the disks & extras do not interest me much, even the system doesn't hold much for me, but I'll miss the 'work' at putting the configuration to-gether. Roll over files and directories on HD, Arexx scripts.. a six row button opus, a Parm menuing system with over 300 scripted items. Can I say good bye for maybe $300...

I'm in Edmonton. so shipping the whol thing wold be way to pricy. I would be intresed in the OS 3.9 software as I only have 3.1 running right now.

i know what you mean ive done the same thing with several amigas, now im working on a 3000 myself.
let us know if you part it out or sell it whole. there are some people here (not many) that complain about "ebay prices" but there are many of us that would give you a fair amount for your collection or parts of it.

personally id be interested in the retina card (i have a retina z2 wich could go into an a2000 ive thought of putting together) and the external drives
Oh yeah?!?
Well your stupid bit is set,

If you're doubting already whether you're going to miss it: don't sell it. You'll only regret it later.

Yeah, don't sell out.  I didn't use my machines for almost three years while working on a master's degree.  Now I'm back and glad as hell I never sold the A3000 and A4000.

go ahead and sell and buy a new machine to build-up. or if you do just sell make sure the buyer isnt going to just part it out.

I would be interested in the magazines, I'm in Montreal, however as Cathearder suggested in an earlier thread, heavy packages can be shipped using the Greyhound bus and that shouldn't be too expensive. Please PM me if you're interested and how much would you like for them.

Heres my advise:

Chop the machines up into little pieces and whore them out on ebay.

I would at least keep the Amiga, since I'm pretty sure that you'll miss it later if you sell it.

I sold my A4000 "way back then" in order to buy a PC, which is/was one of the biggest mistakes I have done.

If you end up parting it out, I would willingly take the Retina and Ethernet cards off your hands; I have a base 3000/25 that would be fun to expand a little!
I'm in Halifax.
