The "New" Cars (The rock band of course)

Ok, how many remember the early music videos done by Todd Rundgren on a render farm made of Amiga 2000's? Interesting technical oddities at the time, but no where near the billboards Top 100. I bet they can be downloaded somewhere on the internet these days, if your curious enough.

So why bring this up after all these years?... A bit of interesting music news.

My old fav band "The Cars" is reforming for a new album and 2006 tour. The new group has Todd Rundgren as lead singer replacing Ric, Kasim Sulton on bass replacing the late Ben Orr, Prairie Prince on drums replacing David Robinson. So who's left? The originals Elliot Easton on guitar and Greg Hawkes on keyboards. Ric Ocasek has decided to sit this one out, but is working on a Cars documentry for DVD. IMHO, Elliot and Greg are the bare minimum needed to recreate "The Cars sound" to have any hope of being called "The New Cars".

It will be interesting to hear what comes out of a one time Amiga user/animator who is now at the front of one of my all time favorite bands. I wish them well, but I won't get my hopes up.
