M-tec 1230 with Mastercard SCSI-2 problem
« on: January 14, 2006, 05:35:15 PM »
I have a problem with a A1200 M-tec 1230/28 turbo card with a Mastercard SCSI-2 addon.
The problem is that when i try to copy large files from the scsi cd i get yellow software failure alerts.
The only thing i can do then is to reboot the computer.
Same thing happens when i try to install OS3.9.
I have tried almost anything now, but cant get it to work.
It doesnt matter if i copy from the scsi cd to a scsi harddrive or to the internal ide harddrive, same thing happens.
The setup is: one external SCSI harddrive (ID1), a SCSI cd-rom (ID3) with active terminator on and the internal IDE harddrive.
Has anyone had the same problem and got it to work?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

@PG:

Usually, this is only required to stop large files from getting corrupted with buggy/bad IDE harddrives with the builting A600/A1200/A4000 IDE-controller, but as it happens only with large files, try setting the MaxTransfer for your partitions to something like 0xFFFE (64kB - 2B). If that makes it work, you could also try 0x1FFFE (128kB - 2B).
