Help with Frontier save files needed!!

Hi all, I am new here so please forgive me if I ask a stupid question.

I have frontier as an adf on my winuae, it works fine etc, but recently I found some amiga save files at this website:

It looks like noone has been there for a while, as none of the contact or irc details work now, but I have no idea how to use these save files! They don't appear to be ".uss" save state files, and if I place them in df0 they dont appear as frontier commanders. Could someone take a peek if they have a minute and tell me where I am going wrong?

Also, and I know its cheating so shoot me, but does anyone know where I can get an adf copy of Frontier that has the bug that allowed you to click under the jettison button bug, to allow you an infinte amount of cargo space? Mine doesnt do it, and I would love to stick a size 7 hyperdrive in to a Eagle fighter  :lol:

These files are Amiga files. Just place them on your Amiga HDD or floppy disk (aka ADF).

Trouble is, I am not entirely sure how. The file is not an .adf file, so how do I place it on an .adf? I tried creating a floppy, then maybe use workbench, but the file is not recognised if I put it in the drive. If someone can please please please give me a total idiot proof walk thru, I would really appreciate it!

try these to put the saves into your adf file.

standalone software adfopus
windows shell extension adf view

by the way, you might also try first encounters which is the sequel to frontier. (shareware, pc only needs some utility to run under windows)

It's easier. Before you insert the Frontier ADF to run Frontier, go to the Harddrives tab, click on "Add Directory" and choose the directory you downloaded the files to. Leave device name empty and choose SaveGames as volume name. Then start Frontier as you always do. When saving or loading a game, you should now see another device named DH0 where you can find the files.
