Greek Quake
« on: January 08, 2006, 02:15:53 PM »
Hum,
A strong magnitude 6.7 earthquake occurred at 11:34:52 (UTC) on Sunday, January 8, 2006, in Southern Greece, about 95 km NNW of Chania, Crete.
The hypocentral depth was estimated to be 37.7 km (that is shallow and bad)

Location 36.250°N, 23.498°E (for google earth)

There are a few forum members from the area, so i hope they are ok....

I thought the topic was about a new QUAKE Clan!

By the time the earthquake was shaking the whole area, I was sleeping and I had to turn on the lights, just to make sure that it wasn't some sort of a dream...

Fortunately, I'm safe and sound! No problems here :-)

P.S. The depth was about 70 Km, that's why it had a very long propagation range on the surface.
