Thank you, thank you, thank you!   :-D
I can format Amiga disks now! I have Workbench 1.3.3 now! One step closer to getting Amiga games on the A500. Now, if someone would just sell me an A590!  :-P

P.S....  How can I tell what version of Kickstart ROM I have without opening the case? It's definetely below version 2.0. I tried holding down the two mouse buttons on boot up, but that doesn't work.  :-?

If start your A500 without a floppy disk in it the answer will reveal itself on the screen  :-) in the form of a either a hand holding a disk and the kickstart version on the screen or an animated insert disk screen which also has the version nr somewhere on the screen.

I lost 2 bids on the video cards  :-(

They went for a pretty high price being that one was broken and the other was flaky. Insanity. Wish i had a pile of old amiga vid cards laying around to ebay,.

I here ya! Amiga prices are crazy! I can't find an A500 Amiga A590 HDD anywhere! Kind of funny, click this Google search link and the prank ebay ad I posted here on A.O. comes up third in ranking. It's funny what it displays.

Here's another listing A500 3.1 ROM that will go crazy right at the end! I'm going to go for it though!  :-P

Try ebay.de or ebay.co.uk or ebay.nl, you often find better deals there.  I even got a CDTV 2.0 rom at a decent price.

How much did the Spectrum go for?  I've been on vacation and missed out :(  seemed like the card was very repairable.

Missed this thread somehow, even with my name on it!

Well I'm happy to hear your package got there in once piece. :-)

And I agree on the video card prices. I know some of this stuff is going to come back to bite me in the arse for listing it (reason I never did before), even with the "as is blah blah blah" in the listings. But, I figured it was better than just tossing everything out.

I have a 590 here, tell you you what. You pay for shipping and I will send it to you. If it works you can then decide what you feel you should pay me for it. The 590 appears to be a working one (I don't have a complete 500 here to try it on and I can't find my 1000's keyboard...sigh). It's in it's original box, both internal power connectors are there, the external power supply is there, it doesn't appear to have a scsi or mfm cable inside though, there's a 20MB drive in it and it has no RAM onboard (but it uses chip dram which arent hard to find or rob off of old PC cards etc). If it doesn't work, well then you're out the shipping but you have a nice looking 590 to stare at!
