Happy New Year
« on: December 31, 2005, 12:06:13 PM »
To all at Amiga.org, I wish you a happy, propsperous and healthy year in 2006.

I shall be having a quiet one tonight, not least as I have to save money to get off my arse and start fulfilling some ambitions that have eluded me - and lets face it, we ain't getting younger!

On a world scale, 2005 has been quite bad - natural disasters and conflict affecting seemingly every corner of the globe.

On a personal level, I lost a friend in France at the end of November, and a close friend lost his father to cancer a week or so later...so I am hoping 2006 is a happier year than this one has been.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the past year or the coming year? Any New Year resolutions? Any plans to celebrate New Year?

All the best for 2006 everyone!!

:pint:

I'll bite,I have no shame.... 1024*768*24  :-D

Personally, not been a bad year, could have been better but looking at what went on in the world I can't complain.
Not going out tonight, got a load of stuff to get finished before I go back to work on Tuesday, and as usual I'm waaaaaay behind schedule (and rockin')  :-(

I stayed in too, cooked a prawn curry, had a couple of beers - nice and relaxed.

Happy new year to all of you! :pint:

I stayed in too but it was anything but quiet.

Had my first Hogmanay party for six years. Must've been about fifty people squeezed into the house at one point.
It finished at about 10.00am on the 2nd and I spent this evening cleaning up.
I'll need another few days to get the place squared back to normal.

Anyway, I had a fabulous time and even had a few people enquiring about the "weirdo computer thing" (my A1 which I had in the living room, playing mp3's for a few hours).
"What's this amiga OS thing then?"
"IS that a Mac?"
"Oh, like an amiga from years ago?"
"Can I play Sensible Soccer?" (To which I could only sigh... "not yet... but if you want to I have a "real" amiga in another room...")
"No way! You can get this thing on the internet?"

.. and of coure:
"Can we download some porn?" (.. and that came from a girl..)
:-)

2005 was a good year for me but they all have been so I'm just hoping to carry on from where I left off.

All the best,
Robert.

Happy 2006 everybody

Having been away since before xmas I now have to catch up with  what was going on here. I trust, like me, most people are now  suffering from over indulgement, mostly broke and back at work

Hope you all had a good holiday.

2005 was intense. I won't even try to get any deeper than that 'cause it's impossible to do it justice, really. Somehow I can't say I hope 2006 will be any less eventful, just maybe if we could have more of the good this year... I'd be cool with that.

Happy new year!
