'not fair', hahahaha :-)

I think I heard something about the boards are being shipped directly from Asia or wherever to the various shops and not to Eyetech first to reduce shipping costs or something.

Sincerely,

-Kenneth Straarup.

What's that Access-thing you're talking about?

I'm so glad that most of you actually are thinking about me and that i will be very happy! Yes, i will! It shouldn't be too long now. I'm sure i will have mine by next week! I'm not worried!  :-D  Should be great fun!

I really like the MicroATX AmigOne-XE design, and the features Alan revealed look brilliant! It also should have GigaWire and Articia P instead, with DDR, PCIX and 4x AGP!!! Now THAT what it should be! And included with things like ATA133 RAID and GigaBit Ethernet, it is a brilliant upgrade! I hope that will happen, especially considering it being released during the end of the year! Should be really exciting!

Anyway, i'm DYING to get my board soon! WOW!  :-)

How come people in Sweden get them before UK?

That's not fair seeing as Eyetech is in the UK.

 :-D  :-D  :-D

Alan tried to get the boards to Sweden in time for AmiGBG 2003. However, they ended up in Cologne (in the colon?) so didn't come until 2-3 days after the event...

The rest of the boards was NOT going to reach any public showing, so was sent as regular shipment (not UPS or whatever it was he used for the shipment to Sweden). They should be in the UK about now, yes. And Helge's board should be in Norway by now. And Helge should be on our new mailing list by now. But he isn't. For some reason. I think he's avoiding me ;-)

No, Ole-Egil. I haven't been avoiding you. I simply couldn't get into that site you wanted me to.

By the way, i got a mail from Datakompaniet. They haven't yet got the boards and they will only get 4 of them this first run, and i'll still have to wait, but i'm the first on the waiting-list..I mailed Gunne and Datakompaniet and said Datakompaniet SHOULD have more boards and that i'm sick and tired of waiting longer..so hopefully Gunne should solve the problem by now..

I can't really understand why Datakompaniet only is going to have 4 boards during this first shipment. That's far too little. What's going on really? It's too stupid...I didn't pay 8500 NOK just to wait any longer for my A1G4XE! I have sent a mail to them. Actually i was supposed to get the boards by Datakompaniet. Now i wonder if i should ask Datakompaniet to transform my payment over to GGSData instead and ask Gunne to send the A1G4XE from them directly to me? I just don't know. I expect to get a mail from them during the day. I'll stay on the net to 21.30.

Sorry for feeling a little let down. I know i'll have my boards, if i only knew WHEN...

Look, Gunne has a LOT of orders. He didn't get enough boards in that UPS-shipment (it was sent by UPS, don't forget this) to cover all of them. When Alan get's the rest of the boards (I don't know when either) he'll get some more boards, and by then you'll have yours.

The thing is, you ordered from Datakompaniet, who ordered from Gunne, who ordered from Alan. Getting my drift here? I ordered from Alan and got mine 11 months back  :-P

Ok, that was evil. But The Thing is, Datakompaniet shouldn't have been sitting on the fence for this long, because that forced them to order boards via another dealer.

The whole problem is that you're too eager, methinks. Slow down, you're giving yourself a heart attack  :-D

Asking a person whom has been waiting almost a decade for a new Amiga-system to wait even longer, is easier said than done, but i know about the situation. I just don't really understand this..but i try hard to do..A long wait makes a person feel a bit ill...It's a nature thing..

I'll pray to God then..

All this kinda reminds me of delays (and delays and delays :-) ) shipping ZX Spectrums and QLs in the early 80s. Sir Clive Quoted a 28 day shipping period, which often got exceeded by months - that was mainly due to a world shortage of RAM chips, and supply being exceeded greatly by the actual Demand.
That was probably the cause of the QL not being that commercially succesful. nice machines though !

Also, the first batch of QLs shipped before the ROM was really ready, and they had to re-issue them, IIRC. There a whole load of info about it at old-computers.com (which is a top site, btw)

Datakompaniet just mailed me back and told me that i am the first on the waiting-list, so that means i'm number 5, while they only get 4 this round. Hopefully a batch will come soon, and i could then have mine about not too long..
