RGB to component video conversion?

Is there an (easy) way to convert Amiga RGB output to component video output to use with component inputs on a TV?

Just get yourself nice cheap 520 (from A500) RF Modulator which also has component out for better picture.

But hurry they are getting rare now and people are willing to spend $$$ on ebay. I use one on my A4000T and A3000 from time to time.Goodluck Merv ;-)

Not composite.... (A520)  COMPONENT video.  (Y-Cr-Cb)

Do you need PAL or NTSC?  If you need PAL, I suspect Londo's link should do the trick.  There aren't any that I know of in the US/NTSC, though.  I'm not sure if a SCART->Component box would work in NTSC if you imported one plus a SCART cable.  I suspect it might, though, as timing shouldn't matter to simply remixing a signal.  Of course, some of the boxes (such as the one in Londo's link) seem to do more than just remix the signal.  I'm not SURE it'd work, and I haven't imported one to test this theory...  ;-)

I need NTSC. No idea whether those boxes would work with NTSC signal...

Thats COMPONENT to RGB, not RGB to COMPONENT

Hi,

Have a look at Keene Electronics and search for "APT1" - this is an RGB (SCART) to component converter - and it copes with PAL 625i/625p as well as NTSC 525i/525p.

I ordered one a few days ago (not specifically for the Amiga though!) and will post here again once I've had a chance to try it. Might be a while though, as postage from UK to NZ will take time at this time of year!

The one I linked to is RGB to Component (YUV), although they sell a Component to RGB converter too.

It says PAL/NTSC on the top of the unit too so I assume it's compatible with both.

You are right!   I Zoomed into that particuat image,  previosuly was looking at the one below wich is Component to RGB.  Good to know these exist.
