Some odds and ends
« on: December 21, 2005, 12:05:57 PM »
Firstly I have an Amiga monitor, a multisynch M1438S to give away to anybody who will collect it in London. Why give it away? Because it has an intermittent fault where the red colour goes, and I don't have the skills to tinker inside a monitor. Apart from the red issue, the monitor is in good order and has an anti-glare/antistatic shield on the front. I tested it recently and the speakers work too. Note that there is yellowing of the plastic so it isn't suitable for someone making a 'mint' setup.

I also have the following two items which I will be willing to ship to UK only (because they have bulky AC-adapters with UK pins):

1) Vidi-Amiga RT (24) Pro Digitizer for the parallel port. Everything is included and in good order except for the original box. I will include a short parallel port extender if I can find it (was not part of the original contents).

2) SCSI Zip Drive, external. You get the unit, AC-adapter, and your choice of SCSI cable (D25 to D25 or Micro-D to D25). Somewhere around here I have an Amiga disk with ZipTools on it, I will include that too, and all the Zip Disks I can find. I think I have about 6 or 7 disks.

Lastly, I have a Technosound Turbo II sound sampler that I will ship worldwide. That is complete with box, manual, software and audio lead.

If you are interested, make me an offer.

Well that is close enough to reach. Just the other week I picked up a tape drive from a member out in Hayes.

Sure, I've been trying to get some 'London Geezers' together for a while now. Lets leave it for the New Year. We continue in PM...

Update: the monitor is available again because the guy who wanted it can no longer collect it.

Argh ! I *need* the Vidi ! Are you *sure* that you won't ship it to, say France ? Heck, I'd come to pick it up. I could also take the 1438, given that I work at a video facility w/ technokillers all around the place, gutting 2inch VCRs and Barco monitors all day long just for the fun of it, it looks like :) How much would you want for it ? I mean the VIDI. Mind you, I'm very serious about it : I badly need a way to quickly transfer SVHS and YC signals to my Miggies, and I believe it's just what it does. And I also love to come to London, where quite a lot of friends must think I'm dead or something  ;-)

Mate, I can ship you the VIdi if you don't mind the AC adapter being UK. Just make me an offer that you are comfortable with and that's it, I will send it. I'm quite reasonable my good man  :-)

Hey X-Ray ! I don't know what's going on. I just found a HAMA292 Genlock for hum, I won't say you the price, it's so low that it's a bit unsettling :) this is JUST the HW I'm craving for since ages.

I was thinking about the P&P for the whole lot (40£ ? What do you say?), and heck, I'd really like to visit my friends in London ! Where are you in England ?

As for the price of the things, I dunno, I'd say 30-40 (I find 30 prettier, but maybe it's just me :-P) quids for the VIDI, 15 for the TS2, and huh, 30? For the ZIP (not sur I'd take it, but I have a 12zain ZIP disks to salvage...) ? I'd love to offer you more, but the train ticket to london will set me 75€ back, and I'm not a rich Amigan yet. And not really comfortable too w/ the idea of grabbing for nothing HW that costed an arm to the seller. So now it's your call, dude.

PS - DANG, I MISS amiga-hardware.com !! I *need* it righ now, for details on the Vidi !! For crying out LOUD, please take it back online ! PLEEEEZE !

The ZIP drive isn't worth £30, they have been going on ebay for less than £20. So let's call it £15 for the Zip. The Vidi also isn't worth £30, I think you should have that for £20 because I don't have the box. You can have the Technosound for £10 if you take the Vidi and the Zip Drive too.

How does that sound?

Also: I have scanned the manual of the Vidi and if you like I can email it to you so you can see if it is the right thing for you. PM me your email address mate.
