Good evening
« on: December 20, 2005, 12:57:43 AM »
I am very pleased to see that the Amiga One computer actuly exists. After some searches on google of course..

Where can I read more about this computer?

I can't find much really, I'm also wondering where i could buy it and Amiga Os for it.

Thanks in advance!

Now I'm gonna have a look around this forum, maybe I'll find more interesting things.

Welcome aboard!

Surf around a bit and you will be in A1 heaven! Good luck getting one though. You may get better chances on a micro A1.

I think the Mai website remains the best source of detailed info - you can see the specs and download a datasheet (in pdf format) on the Teron Mini page

Where to buy...?  I don't think anywhere has the AmigaOne in stock - there were a couple of small production runs then nothing.  Eyetech (the company distributing them) is silent, as is Mai (the company that developed the Teron boards which Eyetech was selling as the AmigaOne under license).  The Mai Logic website is just a mess of broken links now and they were sued earlier this year by a partner.  It's unknown whether they're still around and without them, there's no more AmigaOne.

Incidentally, you can't buy just the OS without the AmigaOne due to some strange licensing agreement.  However there will be a version of OS4 released for Cyberstorm PPC and Blizzard PPC accellerator cards for A4000 and A1200 which you will be able to buy separately.  When it will actually be released, nobody knows.  You can read lots more information about OS4 on the Hyperion Website

Unused A1s are in pretty short supply (read that as 'not available').  You might be able to get one used.

For information on the A1, a good place to surf to is intuitionbase.

A500 (put away), A3000d, Genesis Flyer (A1200 tower with
Toaster/Flyer), and A1XE with OS4pre

Oh, yeah, and this WinXP box with Lightwave 7.5

Thanks for updating me on this, sorry to hear the bad news.

I think I'll hang around here more, seems like a nice forum.
