New Amiga + Commodore Websites - Names?
« on: December 12, 2005, 05:11:35 AM »
Hey all,

I will be designing a new Amiga and Commodore scene website(s) soon. All 4 domains have been registered by me already, but I just want some feedback on which sounds better.

Which domain names should I use?

EverydayAmiga.com
EverydayCommodore.com

or

AmigaToday.com
CommodoreToday.com

My goal is to be kind of more than just news, but also reviews, HW reviews, community, etc... an e-Zine of sorts I guess is what i'm aiming for.

Thanks for your opinions!  :-D

Well, the Everyday domains sound kind of hobbyish to me. Sort of like a houshold tips kinda thing. Sort of like Everyday Living. I get the feeling of all encompassing information helpful in daily usage. What can the users do with what they have now and keep it working, comes to mind.

The Today domains kind of ring of news, thanks to USA Today... I kind of expect a news site on the state of things now. What is new or up coming that the users can get or advance their setups, comes to mind.

For me it would be what are the aims of the site.

Wow, that's great news since we currently have a certain lack of new hardware! What are the specs?

I have decided to do the following:

AmigaToday.com will be a news only related website.

I have made an all new domain name...

AmigaStyle.com

...which will be a Community based website... or a full blown eZine, including a "Classic" section.

I have yet to decide what to do with EverydayAmiga.com

I think AmigaToday about covers everything... I mean it just sounds perfect for the whole scene. Not about it being the system of yesterday, but what we still make of it today! I dig it!

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

I also like AmigaToday best.
EverydayAmiga.....hmmm, maybe small articals from users on latest uses, dev stuff, projects, hardware hacks... just a thought. Ya know what I would like, a blog for developers we could read. No need for a message thread to bog them down and nothing fancy. They could just post "I debugged functionX in app Z today, tune in next week..."

Dr_Righteous, yeah I know. :)

However I *DO* want to have a Classics section as well. Which is why I am considering making AmigaStyle.com not only a community, but also a full blown eZine.

Shortly before launch of my little endeavor, i'll be recruiting active and old time Amiga scene journalists, reviewers, etc. :)

AmigaToday.com seems to have more of a News only ring to it, which I think i'll use it for... today's Amiga scene news only.
