Have any of our American readers watched Peepshow?
« on: December 06, 2005, 02:10:34 PM »
I recent read an American review of the Peepshow first series DVD and the guy simply didn't get it... was he just an idiot used to the usual US sitcom crap or is his view an example of cultural differences?

The only stupid question is a question not asked.

You won't find it on the BBC, IIRC NBC have bought the series (Though I don't know if they plan to show it or remake it).

oh god not nbc they used to be a decent broadcaster but now

actually if it is shown by any of the broadcasters it will probably be heavily edited even if there is nothing offensive.

i mean if mtv will bleep the words "disobeying the law" from a song then the broadcasters will really be under the gun to edit out non-offensive scenes. this is BS.

I've never heard of it either - and, generally, if something is on BBCAmerica, I am at least aware of it. Altho, lately they have had mediocre stuff on. (like that Blackpool, gambling/singing thing. WTF was THAT???? :-o   )

If it's as good as you say, it needs to come on unmolested. If they put it on some "Network" channel, it will be cut up and de-balled. and therefore, suck big time.  :madashell:

The canned laughter in the new series of Little Britain is really starting to get on my tits, then again it could just be that this thread has made me notice it more. Still a damn good show though.

Broken News is pretty good too, really taking the p*ss out of news channels. Dunno if BBC America shows that yet?
On schedule, and suing

If it were De-Balled there would only be about 40seconds of show including the opening credits...

The current series of Little Britain is absolute wank, nowhere as good as previous series :-(

well that leaves plenty of time for commercials

seriously the would probably reshoot everything then. after the janet jackson fiasco they won't leave anything to chance. which BTW is why network tv sucks right now.

It's become rather tired now, the first series was kind of fresh, and the second one added a couple of funny new things (bitty :-D), but this third one seems to be a rehash of stuff they've already done.

The only really funny bit on last night's episode was the vomiting dog.
