That's the exact case. Each computer would have
it's own (different) static IP address from the
provider.

The problem here is that (as has already been stated) you cannot have multiple DSL modems operating at the same time on the same DSL line.    

If you used a separate phone line for each computer, then it  would work but you'd be paying for two phone lines and two DSL accounts.

yeah i misred, 2 modems prolly wouldnt work, one modem with several IP that technically aint a problem but 2 or more i dont think it it'll work. cable would though :D

Well, I bought some cat5 end the appropriate
ends etc, I've decided to do this properly.
I've also decided to ditch the slow/expensive
DSL and fire up the 1.5Mbps cable connection.
Too bad upload speed is still only 128k though.
