If the mmu is on the card use oxypatcher to enable it
Amiga is addictive coz it is fun to use

@Martin_Lee:

The MMU isnt enabled until it is used and thus a enabled but not used MMU is pointless.

OxyPatcher is for 040 and 060 CPUs.

It doesn't touch MMU anyway.

Traditional way:
Code: [Select]
RUN >NIL: Enforcer QUIET

It doesn't give any real benefits with Viper though.

You might want to look into MMULib aslwell.

@Martin_Lee:

Linux controls the mmu by itself without any help.

Seems like it´s pretty slow on an 68030 and only four colours ...

Is the CPU on the board a cut-down 68EC030 or a 'true' 68030?

I seem to recall the former does not have a working MMU, however I am probably incorrect...

Cheers,

The MMUs are often disabled on 030s because they aren't of high enough quality. Those chips are then rebranded as EC030s.
I managed to get VM working on my old EC030 without problems, I can imagine it could just aswell not have worked.

So, try to install Linux on the box. X will be slow as hell, but it'll do for console operations. I did it with my old 486@25MHz.
