They just keep getting updated!
I've had a 2000 since late '87, it's been through several changes/upgrades (ROMs ECS chips,accelrators PS, HD replacement), but
still going strong. I finally caved in in 2000 and got a
winders box (have 4 on a network now), but still keep the
2K running. I use it mostly for midi stuff (love B&P), but
just got an x-surf card so I decided to de-lurk to see about some miami config problems.

I really wish this board was around in '91 when I was configuring my first TCP stack with AmiTCP (still get the shakes over that).

maybe you should put in nice accelerator card and a gfx card to give it a somewhat modern look&feel  :-D

I currently have a Cybervision64 (a Piccasso is about the same GFX wise, isn't it?), and a GVP combo 030,I have a GVP 040, but it intermittently dies (I think it may be a cracked solder joint on one of the SMD j-lead legs, but haven't been able to thoroughly check it out). I plan on taking the whole thing apart and blasting the dust out with some dry nitrogen (I use it at my job for cleaning PC's), and then going over all the connectors with some contact cleaner (MS-941 solvent, great stuff!)

I would love to get an 060!

I just ordered a PS2 mouse adapter (I'm addicted to scroll wheels) and a new CD rom drive (the current one died yesterday). Now if I could just get Miami working correctly.. :lol:

Yes, drool at the thought of 060@75 (and a Picasso).  I also would like one for my 2000 (it might even tempt me to take the dust cover off).  My 2000 is pretty much bare bones, so doesn't get turned on too often (though my 1200 hasn't been on for a while either).  Why do work and procrastination keep getting in the way of old fashioned amiga fun?  I still hope (dream for) the elbox dragon to breath fire into my 1200.  I definitly would spend a lot more time in amiga land.

Wow, that Dragon setup looks awesome! I had no idea new setups were being developed for the old systems. I might have to spring for a 1200 soon

I got my 040 card working stable now. It appears that some IC(s) were crapping out when they got warm/hot. Since I didn't want to rob stuff from my 030 card, I went ghetto-geek.. I stuffed an 80 mm fan in there (did some re-routing of ribbon and PS cables). Held in place with a little duck tape, and WHEEE no more lock ups (the case top actually helps funnel the airflow to the back of the card).

Downloaded Ibrowse 2.3 (very cool my 2.1 reg is still valid!), and I'm cruising on broadband! The Miami problem turned out to b the DNS, I had to manually enter the IP's in the database (since I have a router, I used one of the peecee's to get that info).

Now I'm off to download samba (has anyone got the X-surf samba to work?) and see about file sharing with the PC farm I have here
