Christmas presents (or, arrrgh, not again!)
« on: November 21, 2005, 07:07:46 PM »
Just trying to do some Christmas shopping. Wonder if anyone had any ideas of good online retailers, and also though it would be an opportunity to share ideas.

A few ideas I have had (to buy for housemates [both male] and family.

Thinkgeek.com has got some really great ideas. Unfortunately I had to abandon the idea because of prohibitive shipping costs, and that's before customs have got hold of it!

I'd like to get one of my housemates a weather station (like this) anyone know if they are any good, or a waste of money.

Anyone know any other gadget sites in the UK/EU?
Anywhere to buy eclectic range of tshirts?

Disclaimer:
1)I apologise for mentioning Christmas, if you are one of these people who (like me) are sick of it by the time it arrives.
2)Blah blah, not religious, it was stuck over the top of a pagan festival anyway, blah.
3)Apologies if this offends people of other faiths (supposedly there are some local authorities in England that have renamed Christmas for fear of offending Muslims - fact is, I bet a single Muslim hasn't complained)

Nah, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a (badly croppped) festive doomy!

@ Cyberus

You could get him one of these.
Cheaper little gadgets and goodies on the same site. Pity you are buying for a bloke: that is always very difficult, much easier to buy for a girl. Actually now that I think of it, I can't remember when last I bought a gift that wasn't for a girl...

Why not give the girls one of these? Unfortunately I have to warn you about ... adult... content, although it's all very clean and viewable from the office.

/still ducks away just to be on the safe side

Indeed. I wonder if you could use Cindy Lauper's tune for it...
