Now sporting over 100 hours of gameplay!  That's 40 hours added since the delay was announce to add new gameplay mechanics...

I wonder if they are releasing some wired version of the Revolution controller like they demoed at the Tokyo Games Summit using a modified Metroid Prime 2 build.  That could explain the "newly added game mechanics"...

Well, one can hope anyway...

Needless to say, the 'Cube is going out with a BANG!

I hope they release it for the cube.

But, Nintendo has a habit of cancelling games for an outgoing console, and then releasing them on the new systems.  For example, on the N64, Animal Crossing (released in Japan for the N64), Dinosaur Planet (completely {bleep}ized into a Starfox game), and Eternal Darkness were all close to completion before the GCN was released.  (I played Dinosaur Planet and Eternal Darkness myself and besides being on dev carts, the games seemed complete.)
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Well, Nintendo promised to release Twilight princess for the GC. If they keep that promise I will definitely get it.
Beating the dead horse since 2002.

Speculation is not confirmation.

I remember the same thing going on with Dinosaur Planet, which was set to be the N64's last "killer app", as well as Rare's last Nintendo game.  Since it's been delayed, was playable in demo form at E3 2005 several months ago, and now has no exact release date (just "2006").  I think the same is happening.

We'll have to wait and see.  It could probably sell quite a few GCNs, but then again it could probably sell more Revolutions.

When they announced the delay in August, they released new screen shots that were in something like 1024x768 or higher...these were posted on www.gamesarefun.com

what does that tell ya?

I was reading some comments about the whole HiDef issue on www.joystiq.com and someone said that they have yet to see DVD quality games in EDTV (720x480p)on even the Xbox so why the need to go to HiDef?  That was a good point.  If Rev...and Zelda running on Rev. can produces fluid animations with full anti-aliasing on a 480p screen to the point where round objects are actually round and I can't seen any polygons (no matter how good the texturing), I don't think anyone will complain about the resolution (or lack thereof).

If you read the source on Eurogamer.net, Nintendo didn't deny it, just said they never made an anouncement about anything so the NGC Magazine article was speculation.

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=62348

You know, the more I think about it...since they demoed a wired version of the controller running on the Gamecube, maybe they will bundle that with LoZ:TP...  Just look at Mario Party 6 & 7 with the Mic and Donkey Konga  1 + 2 and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat...  So it wouldn't be the Revolution freehand controller, but a new GC wired controller...heck, it could even be a new Wavebird...

NGC Magazine stands by their statements saying a Nintendo exec. accidentally leaked the info to them.

Well, it will be released for the 'Cube and Wii at the same time.
