SCSI JAZ & GVPSCSI problems

Hi folks:
i'm having a strange problem with an external 1gb SCSI unit.
I have an A4008 GVP Scsi controller on an A4000d. I'm having the following problems:
a.- the unit is recognized and i can format it.
b.- After that if i try to copy any files to the jaz disk i get multiple and unending disk errors. I changed the jaz disk in order to avoid a problem with the special jaz disk.
c.- If i try the same disk on my pc the disk is recognized and without problemas after a format.


My Ami config is:
1.- A4000, 12 mb ram, 3.0 Rom and OS.
2.- Xsurf and ZIp100 Ide mounted on the xsurf_atapi.device
3.- IDE CDRW on the normal SCSI.device

Any ideas?

p.d. I still have the strange problem at boot time. I have to boot without startup-sequence, loadwb and reboot. Otherwise it stays at the boot sequence.

What version of the WD SCSI controller chip is on that 4008 card?  The proto and -04 are error prone.
What version of FASTROM is on that card? 4.13 is the newest. Do not believe in number sequences. 4.5 is older than 4.13, yes it is true, but strange.

Hi Amiga4k:
i doublechcked today. The card it's not an A4008, it's GVP Impact Series II A4000-HC+8 RevII.

The only chip that looks as a ROM is:
 B9242 - NM27C256Q - 200 - 4.13/289508

The SCSI controler doesn't have a WD chip but the GVP-DPRC-01.

I'm downloading gururom from amiga-hardware for study.
Any ideas?
