PS3 "No pre-owned games"

Guess getting a PS3 is out of the question. What a mess. Used games would have to be purchased with the original used system they were first run on. Hell, what happens when you replace the PS3? You can't even bring a game to a friend's house for crying out loud.

Meh, i suspect they are just patenting it so they can claim royalties out of anyone else who tries to use a similar system.

Ja, although I don't have any copied games on my PS2, I still got a Messiah mod chip so that I could import Twisted Metal Black NTSC version, because the UK/PAL version was cut. I also didn't like the green screen when playing DVDs. So if they pull that stunt, then a-modding-we-will-go...

I do not know either. Some write also "pwned".
Can't people just stay with "you win" "you lose" and "game over"?

i've seen this expression "pwned" for some time now (i'm guessing it mostly american).

what can I say?
it's one of those rediculous idioms that only exists in certain groups under certain situations. it's quite funny in those moments but impossible to translate outside that milue.

It would be like trying to explain the Socks thing here to outsiders. just isn't possible.

Hum,
Yeah,
or T bone and pot head.

(or should that be T bong?)

Anyway, interestingly on topic....
The first wave of malicious software written to piggyback on Sony BMG Music Entertainment CD copy protection tools has been spotted online.

Ahrrr!
Look alive,
There she blows!
Sony's software, installed when playing one of the record label's recent copy-protected CDs in a computer, hides itself on hard drives using a powerful programming tool called a "rootkit." But the tool leaves the door open behind it, allowing other software--including viruses--to be deeply hidden behind the rootkit cloak.

And Sony are already being sued over their copyright protection programs.

Japanese games are already prohibited from resale and hiring (since 1998 I believe).  But, that doesn't seem to affect the ammount of used game sales in Japan and exports (not sure on the hiring/rental though).  This technology might enforce the existing laws, but I doubt it would be technologically or finacially viable to have games start having Windows style activation.   :-(
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(
