Floppy Drive detection problem...
« on: October 28, 2005, 08:22:39 PM »
I have been meaning to post about this for years now, and thought I better ask it. :)

I used to have an Amiga 500 long time ago, and it worked like a charm, until one day.. It decided that the floppy drives would NOT work, and if you tried to attach or boot, nothing worked.

I would hold down the two mouse buttons to go to see what is going on, and then for some reason, it listed all the disk drives as if they were attached?!!?! all the way up to dh4 I believe.

I regretfully threw away the Amiga 500, but I never stopped wondering what really happened or what the problem is that causes the floppy drives to list like crazy...

Anyone know or had this situation?  :-?

DH0-DH4 are typically your hard drive partition "volumes".
DF's refer to floppy drive mechanisms.

I know this is "oranges and apples", but that is a logical answer based on your past memories of the situation.
Won\'t hide my location.
