A4000T Made of Gold?
« on: October 19, 2005, 05:57:17 PM »
The buy-in-now price seems a bit excessive but what do I know?  Free market let the consumer dictate the bottom line but  but good grief !

That looks like it came from the Escom/Quikpak dynasty. Just think about how rare the ones actually manufactured by Commodore are in comparison, and the price would be even higher!

As someone who owns a C= produced A4000T (s/n 16) I can tell you that there is *NO* difference between the machines other then the case so yes, the price is rediculous.

The *ONLY* thing that is rare on any A4000T (all C= and a few ESCOM / QuickPak) is that they originally shipped by default with a high density floppy drive.  Since the supply quickly dried up after the demise of C= and chinon quit making them most Escom / Quickpak A4000Ts only have the regular density drive by default.

Looks like mine, Amiga Technologies GmbH. Mine has a CSII with 50/060,
a PicassoIV, Fast ATA 4000 IDE controller card & 128Mb RAM, & HD
floppy. Wonder what I could get for that.

Actually I may sell mine. It is the same as Sundown's but it is PPC, DKB3128, PIV and CDRW. Case is yellow though, and scratched. I have been having doubts about my continued interest in the Miggy.

this was the original auction for this item,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8709624523&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
do you think it will sell this time because of the higher price?

X-Ray,

I don't know what it is like overseas but here in the US you get more money by parting out your Amiga then you do by selling it as a whole unit.  This isn't an absolute but it is quite common (at least here).
