Just a real Quake question...
« on: October 18, 2005, 03:41:30 PM »
Okay girls and boys. If you don't already know my stance on MS products, you are the winner!
For those of you who'd like to help out a (hopefully) soon to be linux convert (and for those of you who want to flame me [and no, I'm not a flamer!]) here's the question:

What do I need to run Quake II under linux? I have Mandriva 10 installed.

Thanks for any and all comments. :\

As far as the program itself, you need to download the linux
point release.  Copy the pak2 files from any quake2 cd to your new
base2 directory.  Hardware 3D is not needed if you don't mind
using software rendering.  As far as specific software requirements,
check the point release readme.
